Starting in April with Blackadder – Butler to the Prince. Adapted from the beloved BBC comedy by New Zealand’s own Jason Fraser. Directed by Reon Materman. Set in Regency England the current Edmund Blackadder is now the long suffering butler to the Prince Regent, the jolly and not very bright son of the mad King George III. Thespians, authors, anarchists, the marriage mart and Baldrick. How will Blackadder’s cunning plans succeed with all this against him?

Coming in July we present to you 2 one Act plays by New Zealand author Mikey Delahunty. Directed by Sarsha Forbes 2 b or nt 2 b? is a comedic take on six characters from six classic plays re-envisaged as 2008 teenagers, replete with cell phones, computers and plenty of angst. Eating the Wolf is a tongue-in-cheek retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood story, where Grandmother takes matters into her own hands, eating the wolf and running for Prime Minister. Along the way, we meet other liberated fairy-tale heroines, including Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rose Red.

Finally we will be bringing you the play Verdict co-created by Wellingtonians Alana Munn and Pan Clark. Co-directed by Geena Collins-Oldham and Belinda Chainey Verdict invites the audience not into a show but a courtroom; a space where they are the jury and control the fates of the souls of Dr Frankenstien, Count Dracula and Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde voting whether to send them to The Above; where they will be cleansed of their sins or The Below, where they will spend eternity as a tortured soul.
